Beaches in Kelowna
Kelowna provides so many beautiful beach locations to use for your wedding photographs. A large proportion of Kelowna is covered in beaches that border the stunning Okanagan lake, creating lots of opportunities for beach wedding photos or even having your ceremony or elopement on the beach if that is what you are looking for with your destination wedding. At Kreative Beginnings, your Kelowna wedding photographer is ready to help you choose the best possible location for your wedding photography. So with that said, here are some of the most popular beaches in Kelowna for couples to consider for their wedding photography:
Bertram Creek Park
A gorgeous beachfront pebble beach located in the Upper Mission of Kelowna, Bertram Creek Park is the perfect spot for a destination wedding. This beach has hosted many wedding events and is a popular location for wedding photography, as its natural beauty is very diverse, surrounded by water, trees, cliffs and the odd deer walking through. It’s a bit of a drive out of Kelowna, but a worthwhile location to check out. This one is considered one of Kelowna’s more hidden gems and is often quieter than other photography spots at the peek of summer season.
Gyro Beach
Gyro Beach is undoubtedly one of the most popular beaches in Kelowna as it’s just outside of the downtown core and easily accessible. This Okanagan beach provides a fair distance of beautiful sand and a stunning vista stretching all the way out to Peachland. Gyro is not only an incredible location for wedding photographers in Kelowna to shoot a happy couple, it’s also a great spot to visit on your vacation and spend the day in the sun.
Hot Sands Beach – City Park
City Park, being equal popularity with Gyro Beach offers a great spot for beach volley ball. You will often here live music during the summer months. Take a walk through this park in the fall when all the leaves have started to fall, it’s the most beautiful site! For Kelowna’s best photographers, City Park’s beaches are a prime location to shoot engagement photos, wedding day photos, and first looks.
Kalamalka Lake
Located just between Kelowna and Vernon, Kalamalka lake boasts water that’s the most unimaginable shade of blue. With the bright blue-green colour popping from the lake, dramatic cliffs lining the shore, and miles of sand, Kalamalka — though remote — is one of the best places for Okanagan wedding photography. A bride and groom are sure to look their best framed by the sparkling colour of the crystal waters dressed in their wedding finery.
Paul’s Tomb
One of the best known local ‘secret spots’, Paul’s Tomb requires a bit of a hike from the base of Knox Mountain but anyone willing to do so in search of the perfect location for engagement photography or wedding photography will be well-rewarded for their efforts. Paul’s Tomb is a secluded area where couples will enjoy the privacy of the trees framing a pebble beach and a stunning view of the North side of the lake.
